Hi,

I’ll be in RTP on Monday and Tuesday. I would like to meet local brokers about investing in multi families. Let me know if you’re interested!

Seeking help to find and join clubs or meetups to see local people and learn about their experience in person.

It’s surprisingly very hard to find them in east bay area. All google searches just end-up to shops and or bad search results

It may sound a little bit of old, but the in person communication is far better than remote ones

After reading couple of books and many articles i got the feeling that living in California and doing investment is not legally well protected

Long story short I’m looking for a good way to protect my future assets and pay minimum tax

E.g active (multi family rentals) or passive investments in other states

My options are

-Form a California llc and live with it

-Wyoming or Nevada llc, and registered for California biz

Please share your thoughts

And refer cost effective legal advisers in nor cal

Thanks

I'm looking into multiple markets for multifamily rentals . But I'm not sure how should I set my mini cap rate  while searching and filter properties.

for example I'm looking into Oakland Ca, and Austin Tx.

and average cap rate for prosperities in those markets are in totally different ranges

Is there any way to say, for example above 5% is good for Oakland and not for Austin ?

or at minimum people should aim for above 10% and ignore the rest.

thanks

Any update or revisit in this topic , recently many giant tech companies decided to move to Austin and wondering if that decision has motivated operators to become Austin friendly ?

Hi

I’ve done fair amount of research in last couple years to start investigating in multifamily rentals

And at this point looking to onboard a tax strategist ideally in bay area (Eastbay) that understands and pro actively helps me navigate through taxes

Appreciate if you share your references

Thanks
