Definitely interested to see how this comes along. Is this your biggest deal so far?

Hey Angela Maurer Green,

I'm just getting started in this and plan on getting my Real Estate license once I move down to Atlanta in a month.

It all depends on your eventual business goals and objectives. I "potentially" want to own/start a Brokerage with agents underneath me which will require 3 years of being licensed as a RE Agent. Additionally, commission costs and MLS access will be beneficial.

There are downsides as well as James Vermillion alluded to in the link he posted but you must figure out what your goals are and it will make the decision much easier. Many do NOT have their license and still find ways to get some of the benefits through networking, etc.

Great information here.

One thing someone pointed out/suggested to me once was to put a QR code that links to your site. As others mentioned, it is how you stand out and the value people see + the catchyness of the business card that will remember you over the rest.

Glenn Espinosa, that sounds like an awesome spreadsheet. Care to share? I'm just starting in this arena and would love to utilize any tool I feel can ease the learning curve and help make sense of the costs/ROI of purchasing a property.

David Niles, what about your phone do you feel benefits you? Connectivity? Apps? Maybe Dropbox type integration like Glenn proposed?

I feel we all have the tools in front of us, it's how we use them that is important and determines the efficiency.

Bobby Gerry Wow, that's pretty genius! I'm assuming it also optimizes the route to ensure you spend the least amount of travel traveling between locations? I'd love to learn more. I'm still in the beginning stages of investing but this would be beneficial.

Time is money, right?

One thing that has always intrigued me is what do the experts use in the field to make investing easier. By tools I mean, technology and data. Tablets, cell phones, cameras, applications. What is the combo that works for you and what would, if created/available, help make your endeavors more efficient?

Hopefully this starts some healthy conversation and I hope I'm not repeating a topic!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes.

I'm currently in the Northeast but will be moving back to Atlanta during the month of March. In the mean time, soaking up this knowledge and preparing to dive in! I plan to hopefully join some local REIA's and get my RE license to better prepare myself.

Hello all ... I'm currently in a sales program with a rather large company (anonymity is key) and I'm looking to eventually begin investing in real estate. Rehabs peak my interest but I'd love to have a balanced portfolio and thinking long term - grab some buy and holds.

I'll be working in Atlanta area for the majority of this year and possibly the foreseeable future.

I've been lurking for awhile and decided I need to engage if I plan to actually learn anything - dialogue is a two-way street!

I hope I can begin to share my experiences and learn from you all in the process.

I love the site and can't wait to contribute!
