@Connie Bhimireddy Thanks for the great advice. Lots of information. I am getting a ton help from a lot of people on the forum already. Being that I know few people in real estate now this is a big help. I've received a lot of suggestions on house hacking a small multifamily and if i wasn't in love with the idea now you guys have helped hammer home the benefits. That is definitely at the top of my list of priorities when my current lease comes to an end.

I appreciate you breaking down all the pros and cons of different areas of real estate investing. I think your breakdown on becoming a full time agent is very eye opening. I'm definitely going to seek out some local agents to better understand what all goes into the day to day grind of that field. I'd love to use you as a resource in the future. As I continue to learn about the business. Pleasure making your acquaintance.

@Fradel SchaechterHi Fradel. Thanks for reaching out. Yes I fell in love with the podcast well before joining the site. I have listened to so many, most of the time while i'm at work dreaming about real estate. They are very helpful and give a great perspective on the many ways to invest. Huge fan

@Jerryll Noorden is the man lol. I've seen pretty heavy back and forths on this site about the legality and ethics of wholesaling. I'm interested in getting my license eventually, but I'm very interested in learning about ethical wholesaling as a way to make fund my buy and hold investment down the line and build capital. Just a thought. Thanks for the comment @Linda Moore

@Jorge Rios thanks for reaching out Jorge and nice to meet you! House hacking is definitely a strategy I will use as soon a my current lease is up. I'm single with no kids, so I have no problem fixing up a small multifamily and putting some sweat equity into my first investment property. I've been swayed to this method by all the great tips from this site as well as @Scott Trench book Set For Life. I feel like this is a great way to start my investing journey. Any tips on working with real estate agents, or on how to find a great deal on a small multifamily property? I've heard it is easier for first time home buyers to get loans for these types of properties. Also since you are local do you have a good bank or banker i could network with to learn more about the FHA loans? I'd love to find a great project and rehab the property to build a great equity position on the house. Again thanks for reaching out Jorge. Everyone on the site has been very friendly and helpful thus far.

@Amber Brown Hi Amber. Appreciate you for reaching out. I am currently looking to attend a local real estate meetup here soon in my area as well. Do you have any tips for a newbie for networking with local real estate investors. Have you made any strides or strong connections that have helped you since you have started?

Hi All,

My name is Ryne Pope and I am new to the BP family. I've listen to numerous podcast and have a number of the books written by the BP staff. Just like many others I was bit by the Rich Dad Poor Dad bug at the beginning of 2017. Since then I have taken in a lot of knowledge on the subject of real estate, and I believe I'm ready to start networking with other investors in my area.

I'm looking for other local investors to meet up with and learn the game and the area from a real estate perspective. I'm intrigued by wholesaling, house flipping, with my eventual goal being to own a portfolio of cash flowing rental properties. I've been in Northwest Arkansas about 9 years and could help other investor with my knowledge of the area. Looking to soak up as much information as possible, but I also want to get my hands dirty and learn the business. Look forward to meeting with you all.

Ryne

 Welcome to the site Ryne. Let me shoot a pro tip at you. As a young dude you probably don't have much cash in the bank. The 1st thing you should look into is getting licensed as an agent. All wholesaling is viewed as is unsophisticated & often illegal brokering of real estate.

You'll be able to provide value to investors while earning a paycheck......

Learn while you Earn.

Essentially being an agent will make you a much better investor down the road when you are ready to started making all that money you made as an agent work for you. This is what I did. By the time I had my 30th birthday last year I dad a $50M+ portfolio which was a mix of personal investments as well as 3rd party management for other clients....Can't do this without a license. That thing is like a license to print money if used correctly.

Again welcome aboard & I'd imagine i'll see you around the forums as you'll wanna become very active around here. Once you become an agent, investor & build up your personal brand around here on Bigger Pockets the networking & opportunities that will come your way will shock you. πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΈπŸ’Έ

@James Wise

@James Wise thanks James for the sound advice. I am in the corporate grind right now but I'm willing to learn, and take a leap of faith and bank on my skill to hustle in real estate. Getting licensed has crossed my mind multiple times, and I'm seriously giving it thought after all the good advice I'm hearing from the people here on BP.
