@Robert Blanchard Thanks for the link to that thread. I will comb through it tonight! This is my first rental property so I am still getting to know how to manage it. I primarily manage it through my real estate broker. Any tips on finding contractors? The neighborhood is in an area where the houses were built in the 80s (I don't know how to answer the mid grade finishes question!). Basically, current tenant is moving out at the end of this month and I am trying to get someone else in for September/October. The goal is to find someone who would want to stay beyond a year.

@Rick Wang I do not.

@Samantha Klein That's awesome! Do you mind me asking about how much it cost to repaint the cabinets, put the tiles up underneath the cabinets and switching out the counter top? I'm actually interested in doing something similar to really liven up the area.

@Chance Housos Thanks for the reply Chance. I'm hesitant to start and then get frustrated during the middle of it.

I have a question here. I'm wanting to know how much it would cost to re-paint old kitchen cabinets? I believe they have a clear coat on them that requires stripping down. I got a quote for $1450 but believe that is way too high. I'm looking to make some budget tweaks in a rental I have to help marketability in the Austin, TX area. Any suggestions or recommendations is much appreciated. Also, if anyone has any recommendations on contractors who could do the work in Austin would be great too. I am on a tight deadline to try and get the house ready for a future tenant.

Thanks!

Hi,

I am new to these forums and am interested in at the very least having real estate investing be a part-time gig for myself. I am in-between jobs right now changing careers and happened to stumble upon this internship. I applied then received an email from someone on their staff saying I needed to view some live webinars as part of their process. Does anyone know if this is common? I guess immediately I thought this might not be legit. This might be wishful thinking but was exploring the possibility of making some money learning about real estate investing while I also pursued my career as a software developer.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ryan

Hello all! I am brand new here as well and am interesting in learning more about real estate investing generally as I am still in the early stages of trying to figure out what would best work for me. Can any of you recommend a helpful MeetUp?
