The reason for the fence is two fold. First, we are residing in one unit (duplex) and need a fence for our dog. Secondly a lot of homes for us in our rental search were no go's because they didn't have a fence. (This was back when we rented) We couldn't keep a dog in even though they allowed pets. I figure this way I can increase property value and increase my odds of getting a tenant in quickly when we move.

What do you do for upkeep on a wood fence? Do you just pay someone to stain it every so often?

Hello! I have a question for all of the "hold" investors out there. I was wondering what type of fence you put in your rental properties? We are buying our first property and are torn between wood and vinyl privacy fences. Is there a benefit the either? We like the look of vinyl but appreciate the cost of wood. I would put the fence in myself. Thanks!!
