So, on a smaller scale, people start up million dollar businesses with business starter loans. Anyone ever use a business starter loan?

It seems to me like trying to get a job that requires X amount of experience, but the only way to get that experience is to have that job. haha.  I didn't know if anyone had any relative advice or experiences to share with a beginner.

Hey BP,

I was wondering how someone starting out could finance a 2.8 million dollar resort. Interested in how someone would go about this. I found a resort close to home that I would really be interested in running, but I'm not sure how someone goes about owning a property this large. Thanks!

I am currently just putting it into a savings account that has like 0.01 percent interest or something ridiculously miniscule like that. Does anyone put it into mutual funds then pull it out once they are ready to purchase? Does doing so have any negative ramifications like extra capital gains taxes, etc?

@Rob Lane Yes, that is currently what I do. I have a duplex and I rent the other side out. I didn't know if I should be putting the money I save into an interest bearing account to grow for me while I wait, or if that was a bad idea for xyz reason.

@Kristopher Hanks, I will look into a PIMCO fund and do a little research, thanks!

Hey everyone,

I was just curious to know what everyone does to save up for their next big investment. Do you just put your money into a savings account and let it accumulate as you deposit or do you put that money into a mutual fund or other money market account and let it accumulate interest over the year? Is there a strategy/pitfall to either? Thanks!

@Zach Quick, I already have a duplex near manhattan, I have just noticed that its hard to find really good deals there with the taxes and home values being what they are. The area is growing now, but a downsize at Ft. Riley would take a huge hit on the area. BUT I guess you could say that for any major business in any town around the world. Looking to make a few more connections there when I get back to the states.

Thanks to everyone that has provided input! Turnkeys are a new concept to me as I manage what I have currently. In a turnkey, are you bound to an agreement with the management company for a set period of years? Example: Say I use turnkey to as a method until I can pursue investments full time. Once I'm able to be a full time investor, do I still have an obligation to use the turnkey management or can I choose to manage it myself and save money? Thanks!

Hey BP!

I was just wondering how much experience you have investing in large cities that you don't live in. I am a new investor looking to invest in the Kansas City area, but I don't know too much about the market or locations. I've been there a few times, but I'm not the most familiar. What do you guys do about finding properties, setting up PM's, making repairs, and getting them rented when you live far away? Thanks for the help!

Hey BP,

I was wondering what you all thought about small town investing. I'm talking towns with ~5,000. What do you guys think? I've seen some deals in towns like these, but I just wanted to get your advice. Thanks!
