I️ have pretty much the same situation going on at the moment. It’s been a struggle trying to get started but having no or low capital to start with. I’ve always been interested in house hacking and using the low down payment to get started. Unfortunately, my area has a low amount of multi family that I️ can afford but your area might. Let me know how you decide to get started I’d be interested to hear how it goes.

I’m looking to do the same thing in next few years since I️ might be moving out there for a job. Let me know who you end up working with/ where you end up buying. Tried sending you a connection request over the app, but can’t figure it out.

Been trying to do this myself...I’m having a hard time finding anything that makes sense near Portland. I️ am not sure about outside of a 20 mile radius of Portland but from what it seems (spent the summer there) the neighborhoods are hit and miss. I️ think the rents have yet to catch up to the home values so it’s been hard to find something that would cash flow after moving. I’m sure there are deals, so good luck!

I️ used to work at one of the big banks and we were always told to check ID for any cash deposits even if into your own, unless you had a debit with a pin. It’s for anti money laundering purposes. Like others have said, biz accounts will allow them to deposit no problem, so I’d set up accounts that way because I expect other banks to start becoming stricter soon.

Within the past 10 minutes I️ found a friend who wants unit 2 for 1700 and offered to manage the property when I️ leave as well as help renovate. The property also has 5 parking spots. I️ just wanted to clarify if this would make sense to House hack on these numbers, as well as if I️ should try to hold this after? My plan is to aim for $480k purchase price.
