So would i have to register for an apprenticeship? Is there usually a commitment that comes with this? Do i have to take tests and whatnot?

I basically want to just follow someone around and help them while they teach me basic things on the job. (possibly get paid while doing it)

How does one go about acquiring the skills needed to renovate a property. Things such as knocking down walls, raising ceilings, framing, installing carpet/hardwoods/tiles, ect.? I am a 21 year old college student and plan to get involved with real estate investing within the near future. However, i feel that before i jump into a project (or even hire out subcontractors to do the work for me) i should get a basic understanding on how to do the renovations myself.

Should i shadow carpenters/plumbers/HVAC/electricians? Do i get an apprenticeship? Do i just read books? Should i find a real estate flipper and ask to shadow them? Any help would be much appreciated!

I have been doing tons of educating on investing for several months now and was curious as to how you all got started? What was your first deal and how did it turn out? What area of real estate are you focused in and why? Where do you stand right now as far as passive income/ # of units owned/ current deals, ect.

I understand education is a great place to start. I'm already doing that. I want to hear how you all got started so i can get an idea as to where i should start! Thanks for all your help in advance!

Hi everyone! I would like to start building a few relationships with agents around my area and am a little stuck. I was wondering as to how one would go about walking into a real estate business and introducing oneself to an agent. (i am interesting in wholesaling properties right now and need an agent on my team)

just caught this thread and i too am from rhode island. I haven't done any deals but, I have been reading heavily on many aspects of RE investing, especially wholesaling. I would be very interested in chatting with some of you considering were all from the same neck of the woods!

HI, my name is Ryan and i am a 21 year old college student. I have been reading up on real estate investing for the past 8 months and am very eager to get started. I have around $5000 saved up with no college debt (i'm on on scholarship) or obligations at this point. Summer is closely approaching and i would like to take action while i have 4 free months off from class. Where do you all suggest i start considering my current life situation.

My ultimate goal is to create financial freedom at a very early age. I want to be able to retire young with a strong cash flow of passive income. Where should i start?

Hi! my name is Ryan. I am 21 years old and am relatively new to the real estate investing community. I eventually want to retire from my job and invest in real estate full time so that i can finally do the things i want to do in life. Anyway, I was wondering how some of you were able to retire and live the life you have always dreamed? What strategies did you implement to enable you to retire? Is anyone living full time off rental cash flow? How did you go about building cash flow and passive income? Thanks for replying!!
