A few weeks later, after the deed was recorded, I was told that the legal description in the Deed is not correct.

I would guess even on RE, eBay has a buyer guarantee. I know you say you want to make some money but what's the point of losing $2,000 if you can't fix this? As someone else mentioned, the "middle man" is on the hook and doesn't seem legal anyway. If you want to see it through, good luck. Personally, I'd file a claim with eBay and get my $2k back with a lesson learned.

Wow, this is great and thanks to Royce for continuing to ask and to you, Jason for continuing to explain. Like Royce, it wasn't fully clicking for me regarding you guys getting the full amount of the appraised value. I didn't realize you could do that. I will definitely look into this for my primary in Waikiki and possibly my rental property on Kauai. I already bank with BoH. My only concern is by doing this do I tie up any credit/loan value (maybe not wording it right) from me buying a 3rd property as I am looking for one now? Well a 2nd concern would be having to do it over again in 2 years, are there quite a few fees to be paid for doing these HELOC's?

Aloha @Ty Robinson,

I too am interested in this so just wondering if you got anywhere in your search and if so, how have you done?

Mahalo,
