Post: When to establish an LLC or Scorp

Hi All,

Going to be starting with some Whole Sale deals here in the coming weeks. After completing some deals, and maybe 8-12 months down the road, I'll be getting into Fix & Flip. The goal is to then Buy and Hold.

Question, when would be the best time to set up an LLC or Scorp? Right now? Or after I find my first whole sale deal and utilize the "and or assigns" to then go set up my company? Or is it better to wait until I'm fixing and flipping?

Anyone have some great recommendations for asset protection/investor lawyers/financial advisor in the Phoenix area? There are tons on them.. but looking for a recommendation.

Thanks!

Ross

I just joined the Matrix Investor Network at the Apprentice level.

I am looking forward to getting involved and finally taking action to apply the material we all continuously study. Time to take action.

After my first sprint (Orientation, three 100 level courses, completing a whole sale deal) I will come back to let you know how it goes!

So far, so good. Good people, who genuinely want to see the students succeed.

@Jedd Braunwarth Thank you for the pointer, I was going to look into North Dakota. I am new to real estate.. so I hadn't found it to be inflated yet. I guess with the oil boom that would be the case. I am actually trying to assess the value of a property in Arizona.

I notice you are from Des Moines. I grew up and went to school in Pella, Iowa. Several friends and family members living in Des Moines though!

Can someone point me in the direction of a great/ free source to use when determining the value of a certain market?

Thanks!

Thank you for the warm welcome and advice!

I believe that I offer a great outlet for a mentor to teach and pass on his/her knowledge.  I would welcome the opportunity to do the leg work for them to create and close deals, while learning the processes.  I know that with some guidance from an experienced mentor I would be a great investment for them.  I am also a creative thinker.. I believe that this creative side of me would allow for faster returns to the investor and provide innovative ways to accumulate wealth.  Ultimately I feel I would make a great apprentice, then possibly a partner, and eventually a mentor to someone else.

Hello! I am a newbie here, but will not waste any time diving in. I am a driven individual that upholds a high level of integrity. I joined here after spending countless hours absorbing information from "mentors" that always ask for an enrollment fee to get into their "proven programs" that end up being an up sell system later.. Let's join forces and compliment each others strengths and weakness! Ross
