Hello everyone. I'm trying to search for contractors, and I could use some general advice on how this step should usually work. (Or, if anyone happens to know reliable professionals in that area, it would be great.)
I'm getting started as an investor. I've purchased a house with cash, and I plan on using BRRRR with it - repairing it in ways that add value, finding a tenant, and taking out a loan on the value of the property afterward. The place doesn't need anything major, but the floors, kitchen, bathrooms, and exterior all need some various improvements
The agent I work with has past experience investing in rentals and flipping properties. She helped me with getting into contact with contractors she's used in the past, but the house I purchased is closer to Fort Bragg and Fayetteville, NC, outside of the Raleigh Durham Triangle area most of them usually work in.
I've made contact with one general contractor in the area through a local REIA. Most other people I've met don't know enough about that area or don't know enough about me to be willing to share their contacts (which is understandable; there's a really high demand right now.)
What would you do in this situation?
Would it be normal to call several contractors that I find through online searches? I've heard that some people will get several different contractors to submit different bids on specific tasks. I like that idea, but as this is my first time handling a renovation, I don't personally know exactly what kinds of changes are worthwhile from a financial perspective.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
