Hello my name is Rory Shaffer, I'm looking to purchase my first property ever and I've been researching local 2 family homes in my local market. My problem I'm running into is my credit score to borrow with an FHA loan is too low. I'm sure it's due to debt to income ratio. What options do I have in order to borrow and move forward on my first investment? Any advice you can present to me would be invaluable. I thank you all in advance for I know your time is very precious.

Thank you-

Rory Shaffer

Thanks Tyler I appreciate you responding. Yes I would like to be around like minded individuals. REI meet up sounds great, let me know I've been so busy with work and school, but its summertime now so there is more oppertunity for me to branch out. Thank you

@Michael Noto

Absolutely! I find it very helpful to know Connecticut has so many likeminded individuals. I suppose I could possibly see if a transfer of ownership is possible after a certain grace period. I’ll run the ideas by my broker and see what we can do. Thank you very much.

@Jonathan W.

Thank you for that bit of information, I’m not sure as to what kind of Finacing I will shoot for but having all the right tools in my tool belt definitely helps.

Hello my name is Rory Shaffer, I’m very green to this industry but I feel like I’ve been bit by that bug and I’m always looking at land/property and playing that what if game in my mind. I’ve been doing a lot of homework on investing and become a landlord via house hacking and before I sit down to the table with the bank should I set up a corporate identity for protection?

Because I’m just starting out I want to make sure I do it properly. I value any feedback and look forward to working hard to achieving my goals.

Again thank you

Rory Shaffer

@Gary Crawford

Hey Gary, thank you for your story. I too am from a small Connecticut town and I’m very nervous about my first deal. I know house hacking is where I wanna start, not sure how I want to finance for the property once I find it. Seems like there are so many options. You’ve inspired me even more now to get out there and start making plays.

Sincerely,

Rory Shaffer

Hey everyone I’m a new investor from the south eastern part of New England. What do you find to be the most difficult when getting through your first deal? Your take away?
