I plan to build several raised houses on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain in south Louisiana. I am a spec home builder with experience only in slab foundations. Can any of the local pros recommend any subs specializing in driving foundation piers? Thank you in advance.

I faced the same dilemma two weeks ago. I spent a few weeks driving around looking for lots to build rental houses. I found what appeared to be an ideal set of lots in an old subdivision. I went to the courthouse, found the name of the owner and called him. While the lots were not on the market, he is interested in selling a few just to get some activity going in his subdivision. We are having lunch next week, so I can hopefully tie them up.

Bottom line, just call the owner(s). The results may surprise you.
