Post: Virtual staging resources?

Anyone have any suggestions for virtual staging solutions?

I have some friends who are listing homes with no furniture (they moved it to their new place) and are looking for options to virtually stage the home online.

Looking for options here -- high end, low end, middle tier, etc.  Given this is new space, I'm not sure which services really are (and are not) worth the price per picture.

This Vice article has some great points on the implications of not owning your own home. http://www.vice.com/read/what-would-happen-to-the-economy-if-young-people-never-buy-homes
It would be nice to be able to listen to the podcasts within the app itself, rather than always having to exit into another app.

And personally, I would never pay $25 for one of the few things that banks still do for free.

Sometimes it's not about free, it's about convenience.  In the case of my buddy (who does lots of real estate stuff), he shells out $100-200 for his notary to come by his house.  She's often slammed with other business and there is a lag. For this sort of thing, it works perfectly for him.

Anyone have any recommendations on mail scanning services?

I just got the $99/mo unlimited scanning package (3 recipients) at Earth Class Mail.  Automatic check cashing costs more, but everything else seems like a decent value.

Just started using NotaryCam (was the quickest way to notarize USPS form 1583 for Earth Class Mail).

It only costs $25/signature, and $79 if you are international.

Whole process took me about 15 minutes (top).  I read through everything for 5-10 minutes, and then when I uploaded my docs, it took the notary about 5-10 minutes to read it all over and verify all my IDs.

Post: collaborating with Zello (and other PTT apps)

Anyone else using Zello for PTT apps?

Real estate uses I've found include:

  • talking real time with various contractors while on a site.
  • informal chats between those in my real estate group
  • quickly asking someone in group to look up details on a property while you are driving by.

There are many different accessories for it, like bluetooth PTT clips that you can easily use while driving.

(Might even be worth making a BP group on Zello and playing around with it there.)

@Jeff B., I'd stay away from Open Office.  It's likely going to be discontinued.  Go with LibreOffice.  It's an open source fork and has a lot more support and development.

@Duncan Wierman, dunno about still having to scrap them.  I personally have tons of little IFTTT robots working for me to scrape things into a google spreadsheet.

From there, a Ruby or Python script then does other things.

Yeah, but Twilio developers are a dime a dozen. Super easy to define a workflow and then have them copy some existing code.
