Well, I did as was suggested in the above. Here's some feedback:

Michael Lauther, I tried your web site recommendation. However, I was skeptical of it after spending some time navigating around. First off, I couldn't find a link to the service I am seeking. The site's home page is very (for lack of a better word) speculative and fear-mongering. It turned me off reading how everything I know is not important - "it's the market, stupid!" There's no demo of the data I'm after, and no links off the home page that I can see that sells the market metrics I am looking for.

Andy Chu, I tried what you suggested and got a half-answer from a title agent I previously worked with on a deal. It was something and it led me in the right direction for some information I was after. A good piece of advice.

I am going to keep trying to find the information I am after. I found City-Data.com to be useful, but I am not sure of its source.

I am trying to learn how to do market research on the county I am living in (Escambia County, Florida).

I have read that one should learn the direction a market is heading before diving into investments. One should learn the (un)employment data, business license applications, number of building/construction license applications, etc...

My trouble is that I specifically do not know where to find this kind of data.
