I am trying to learn how to do market research on the county I am living in (Escambia County, Florida).

I have read that one should learn the direction a market is heading before diving into investments. One should learn the (un)employment data, business license applications, number of building/construction license applications, etc...

My trouble is that I specifically do not know where to find this kind of data.
