Hi everyone.  I am actually originally from the Hocking Hills.  I just bought a cabin on 60 acres and have been getting ready to do short term rentals.  My parents have a cabin right on Lake Logan, which is in the Hocking Hills region.  There are some really helpful websites to list your cabin on and of course the popular ones like VRBO.

Hocking Hills is the #1 tourist destination in Ohio.  There are more than 2,000 cabins and they are booked pretty regular.  In the winter, usually at least the weekends are booked.

I was curious if anyone on Bigger Pockets had an interest in this area and I'm glad to see there is.  If any of you have questions, I will do my best to answer.  I haven't lived there since the late 90's, but not that much has changed outside of tourism has skyrocketed (especially since Covid).

I've Heard that about Sosua and especially Puerto Plata. I've never been to the Northern Coast.  My goal is to find places with a range of 30-45 minutes of an airport. The reason behind it being when large corporations finally figure out their work from home strategy (like the one I work for), there is going to be a large amount of gringos flocking to somewhere warmer within a short distance of and airport. It's already happening and all the crap going on within the USA helps for motivation.

I really like Puerto Rico for this reason as well, but not on the topic of DR.

I'm looking at the same and going in a month or so.  I'm looking at anywhere from Sosua, Cabarete and Las Terrenas.

Thanks for the info!  I was looking at Medellin probably 2013/14.  I had a penthouse spotted, but opted for a local investment in the USA instead.

I am once again looking at Colombia as an investment.  I had a Bancolombia checking/savings account at one time, but I am sure it is no longer valid.
