Anyone have a tax planner that is well versed in both real estate AND crypto? Need to move on from a CPA that just plugs in the numbers, and find someone that understands the ins and out of both investments, especially on the crypto side. Cheers.

Primarily looking in Seattle, WA, but open to online

Hey Robert. Sorry to hear about your experience.  I am a fortune builders student and i have always questioned some of their tactics.  Although i don't have a direct response to your question, my suggestion would be to ask them directly for a refund.   The worse that can happen is that they say no (which i assume will be the case).   I guess my question is, what other financing options are you referring to?  Obviously i don't know your situation, but i assume any financing option they offer would come with a high interest rate or other unfavorable terms, so not sure if it would have made a difference in the big scheme of things.

I hope the program worked well for you! My friend did CC financing from them, which yes has a higher rate, but he was able to dispute and cancel once he found out about the FTC ruling in a similar situation -- unfortunately, since I paid upfront, I ended up paying more.

Quote from @Scott E.:

I think you would have had a case with your credit card company if you disputed the charges right away, before you took any of the training or "used" any of the product.

But you said this happened during the pandemic. 3 years ago? Not being mean, but why did you wait so long to look for a way to get your money back?

Because like I said, I don't actually have any qualms against the company or any of the people besides their specific sales/signup strategy... I think it is a great platform for people interested in it, but it doesn't align with me... It took this long to figure out because I ended up returning to my job overseas, after I had already started, thinking I would come back to the USA and eventually start, which isn't going to be the case at this point.

Plus, I owned my mistake and realize it's on me, I can't blame them. Was just wondering if anyone on here actually managed to find someone in FB that understood and helped them out...

Hi. I am ashamed to admit I fell for this during pandemic. IF anyone has managed to get their investment back through a lawyer, please contact me. I am a flight attendant. I was desperate and scared at the time and I haven't used the program, but I am far past the refund policy.

Hi,

I don't want to start any discussion about the legitimacy of this training/coaching school and business. I am ashamed that I attended the FB seminars during the pandemic, as I was unemployed and desperate to find a new job. It was the perfect storm of timing and circumstance.

Bottom line is, it was a huge investment. They convinced me on the spot to open an AMEX and charge entire curriculum to it. I wasn't given any other options such as financing, etc. I was a flight attendant that was laid off and we thought aviation was basically ending at this time and that I needed to find a new career but then I resumed work after the pandemic, so I put the whole program on pause as I went back to flying.

Recently, I read about the FTC suing a similar company for these high-pressure sign up environments and something about the financing. So that made me want to see if I could refund my investment, because I would rather invest that in a down payment or something else at this point.

Look, I'm sure if you follow their program and coaching you make back your investment. I like the company and I don't want to start a debate about gurus, but now that I haven't used the program, and I'm finding out that other financing options were available, I feel a bit like I was coerced, pressured, and not given all available options, so in that regard, I find it really unfair and manipulative. I am ashamed to admit but I definitely fell for the sales pitch and feel it was like a timeshare presentation, selling you a dream, not a reality.

I am a flight attendant and really not interested in trying to rehab homes. I was just desperate. If I can't get my money back, I will take the course and coaching to try and see what I can make happen, but I'm just wondering if anyone else on this forum had any interaction with this company and/or managed to their money back, or used a lawyer to do so?

Please don't be mean, this is my first post. I'm aware of what I fell for and that's on me, but I'm just wondering if anyone has been able to get their money back due to the misleading signup practices ...

Thanks...
