Welcome @Andrew Potievsky

I'm also fairly new to the BP community. Make sure the check the links from the comments above, they are awesome. As a fellow New Yorker with knowledge of the Queens market and financing- I'm also looking to search a little further out of queens and BK. I hope you share your progress

Hey @Account Closed and Welcome to BP. I think all your concerns are fair and quite reasonable.

I can say, positively, that Hard Money Lenders will definitely take you more seriously with an LLC. Some wont even consider working with an investor who isn't incorporated. Although hard money has less regulations than conventional loans- the gov. would rather us work with LLC's because businesses are seen as 'smarter' investors.

Hey,

Welcome! Im fairly new to the site as well but have skin in the business like yourself.

In addition to listening to the podcast I suggest you read the "Ultimate beginners guide to Real Estate" http://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investing and setup some keyword alerts for your profile (http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2012/12/19/keyword-alert-system/)

Its all very helpful and a great intro to the site.

Cheers!

@Bogdan Tselnik Welcome! Im also in New York doing Hard Money Lending- BP is awesome. Id suggest reading the eBook as @Darren Sager suggested and, also, setting up keywords that best fit your interest and expertise i.e.. "New York", "Construction", etc. You'd get better instruction there.

@Jon Klaus Hey, still putting together a list/criteria for my investing- focusing more on the Alternative Mortgage side. I did start my shopping list though- Ill probably be looking for 4-6 units in the New York area.
