Welcome to BP Danny@Bogdan Tselnik! The very first thing you should do is read the beginner's guide to investing located here:

http://www.biggerpockets.com/real-estate-investing

From there I would try to create a plan as to what you're most interested in doing as there's many choices in REI. If you're a contractor the most logical thing would be to either Flip or Buy and Hold as you can create great rental units and build up equity on your work. The best way to start in my opinion is to buy a duplex and live in one unit. I'm happy to help in any way I can. This community is priceless for beginners. There will be lots of experienced investors ready to help out with any situation you'll come across. There's always someone on the forums who's been there and done that!
