Charles G. The thing I don't like about the Bell port/Medford area is there is not much potential for appreciation compared to other LI areas.

Henry Chandler the reason you're finding it difficult is because the operating expenses are high on LI. You need to house hack here to start IMO. Buy a multi family, live in one unit, rent out other.

@Account Closed Nassau county will be tough to positive cash flow. Not to mention MF are in high demand and low inventory driving premiums for these properties. For $70k with house hacking you have flexiblility bc you can do 3.5% FHA as you will be living in the MF, but you can bet to pay in the $400k range

@Diane Manders I have been looking into the Pittsburgh market myself-tons of potential based on my research and boots on the ground in B- C neighborhoods so around $50-70k per. I am communicating with a turnkey in the area and learning more now. Stay in touch!
