Post: Real Estate License - best way to learn?

I own a rental property but want to expand my knowledge of real estate investing. I've spent tons of time reading here on BP and reading books but I like structured learning. Should I pursue a real estate license to learn everything? Thoughts? Thanks!

Interested in this group and bravo @Matthew Baltzell for busting a move and putting a stop to waiting. I own a rental property in NYC - an apartment - and I am very motivated to learn more about multi-family properties. I know that NYC is probably not the market but I think Long Island and Pennsylvania have potential. I come from a family of real estate investors (Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Boulder, Colorado) who are semi-retired but still showing me the ropes. I'm ready to learn more and love the idea of a group and Skype sessions.

Welcome Maria - sounds like you're already on your way...

@Steve Vaughan I hear you! Good points... After reading this long thread I realized IF (IF!) I buy a car, it's going to be a cheap used car. Maybe not multi colored but hm.... maybe.... thank you for the great advice.

Interesting thread. Have learned a lot. I'm in the same boat - great credit, cash on hand, not working full time and weighing the pros and cons of buying a car vs. zipcar. I've had nice cars in the past and don't like the idea of a cheap car - how does that effect my personal brand? I'm only half joking on that point. Let us know what you end up doing!

Hi - I'm using the rental calculator. When I run the report, under Cash on Cash ROI it says "Inf%" <- what does this mean?
