@Alina Trigub Yes I will be spending a few weeks in Jax starting next month to zero in on the neighborhoods I like. Fortunately I am in a position to buy for cash and job is not a concern yet. I am hoping Jax will have enough jobs in the tech field due to its size.

@Omar Khan @Jason Luongo What I like about JAX is the similarity in layout with Los Angeles. It has beach communities, central downtown, and a bunch of distinct neighborhoods with their own character just like LA. Something for everyone. Of course LA is much bigger.

Thanks for the input Jason, I am also leaning towards JAX. I am seeing somewhat better deals there as well.

Hello, I just moved to FL from CA and looking to buy a house/duplex for personal/investment in either Tampa or JAX. Curious as to which city makes for a better long term investment?

Hello,

Is there a calculator on BP or outside which can help me estimate the net proceeds after selling my house. I have found some basic ones but I am looking for one that incorporates taxes, depreciation, improvements, calculation for portion of house used for Short term and long term rental, refinance/selling costs etc.

Basically I want to see all the things I need to add or subtract from the selling price to get to the final cost basis and net profit before I accept an offer.

If there is a link to a page that breaks all this down, that will be helpful too.

Thanks!

Similar thing happened to me but for a smaller amount of $3500. I could not get a call back from him. I reported him to BBB and he called the next day and started work soon after.

Survey completed. I have been doing an owner occupied STR with 3 units for 2 years and wish I could refi it using my STR income.
