Hi Tommy,

I sold my co-op apartment last year without using a broker. I had it listed on the MLS using https://www.hauseit.com I offered buyer's agents a commission if they brought me a buyer I ended up closing with.  I was satisfied with the result.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

 As a born and raised New Yorker, I admit I’m not the best person to provide information on Texas but I have heard of the Hurricane that hit Gavelston, Texas in 1900.  It was one of the deadliest in the nation’s history with more than 8 thousand people killed. There was a recent one that hit Houston recently too. So I am willing to bet that yes, it is at material risk of hurricanes.

Hi Marin,

It doesn't seem like Scott is active at the moment.  I am currently looking at possible deals in Ridgewood and Bushwick.  I would love to connect with fellow investors in this area.  Please let me know if you are up for a chat at some point.

This thread has been very informative.  Thank you for all who shed light on this market.  The rent control issue was not something I was aware of and it explains somewhat the pricing in this market.

Hi there,

Given all that has happened this year especially with the explosive growth in crime stats, i was just wondering if many of you still feel Cypress Hills is a good area for investment.  Obviously given whats available in the Midwest, it would be for appreciation but given many of the challenges the city is currently facing, I wonder if anyone is having any second thoughts.

@Arn Cenedella

Great post and congratulations on all your success and the transition. I am looking to invest in the multi family space as well. What would you recommend someone who is not an accredited investor do since usually becoming an LP is not an option without that status?
