Good afternoon,

Newer real estate investor here from North Carolina. As I build my team and try to expand my business, I realized that I should probably start working with/build a relationship with an attorney to help me navigate the legal aspects of real estate investing.  What type of attorney should a real estate investor work with?  A real estate attorney?  Business Attorney?  Appreciate any feedback.. Thank you

@Account Closed- Thanks for the reply. I've had a LTR in Colorado Springs for 6 years so I have a little experience but this STR thing seems to be a much different animal. I'm trying to set things up right from the beginning so I really appreciate the feedback.

I've actually been doing research on properties close to your neck of the woods... Titusville, FL.  I have family in Indian Harbor beach and they love it there.

Appreciate the feedback.

@Vineeth Hh-  Thank you for the response.. I'm looking into proper as well.  Going to look at some local agents and see what they can offer as well.  I just started looking and I wanted to see what other's have done.  Thanks again.

@Patricia Steiner- Thank you for your response and the article.. very helpful. Sounds like an LLC isn't as bulletproof as some make it out to be. I'll continue to evaluate risk, look at tax and legal implications and go from there. Thanks again for the article.

Good afternoon everyone,

Newer real estate investor in North Carolina. We are under contract for a new primary residence and we have decided that we want to turn our current house into a STR. Wanted to get thoughts on if we should create an LLC for the STR. We plan on getting an extensive umbrella insurance policy but not sure if that is enough for liability. Thanks in advance.

@Charles Carillo -  Thank you for the response to my rookie question.  As crazy as it sounds I never thought to look at an independent agent that works with landlords... makes total sense.  Appreciate the reminder about the taxes.

@Sam Domach - Thank you for the response.  Currently I'm looking into small multi here in NC. I'll definitely take your recommendation on contacting the larger corps on something like this.  As I run numbers, I don't want to rely on Zillow estimates to get an accurate picture of what a potential deal will look like.  Thanks again.

Hey everyone I'm a new investor that lives in North Carolina. I currently have 1 single family home rental property but I'd like to get into small multi-family investing.  When you're analyzing a deal for a small multi-family home how do you project the property insurance cost?  Any insurance companies that you'd recommend looking into to.  Thank you

I'm a new real estate investor and I was asked if I wanted to invest in a real estate project.  I have no idea how this process works.   If I wanted to invest in this project, what questions/paperwork should be filled out to protect myself.  I acknowledge all investing is a risk so I'm looking for advice or best practices.  Thanks
