Hi @Mike Krigbaum, this is what I am going to. It's a free workshop put on by SSIC. It's on Technology Drive from 7-9. I think it's geared to newbies like myself, but I'm sure there's info to be gained for everyone!

It's actually one of their free workshops, so it may be advanced for you! I forgot it wasn't part of the monthly meetings.

I like Michael's glass tile suggestions. I consider the backsplash to sometimes be the "great unifier" of the kitchen, and with those mosaics you can bring in each color to tie together. I like subway tile, but I'm afraid you run the risk of looking too bland.

Hi @Ashleigh Galucia! I'm in the same boat, a newbie living in St. Charles County with my husband. I'm in marketing and design, he is an engineer for a construction company. My goal is to start off in wholesaling, and move to flipping and buy and hold.

Have you been to any live meetings yet? I attended a Fasterhouse meeting on Tuesday which was super informative, and next Monday I'll be at the Southside Investment Club meeting, it should be a great networking experience!

I keep reading differing things...either the "profit is in the sweat equity" or "I made a mistake by trying to do it all myself." How do you know what's right? My husband and I both work full time. Our first flip (which, I've set a goal to buy my first house this summer) will have to use contractors. I am terrified, though, of overspending on labor. Eventually I'd like us both to do this full time, and at that point, yes, we can both do a lot of work. But which is the smarter way? Can I still make money, in St. Louis, hiring out?

You guys have given me a lot to think about! Are there any forms anywhere, basic contracts you can edit?
