You can join AZREIA as well. Many of their events have moved online so it may be difficult to network with them, but they're there!

@Cade Olof, I haven't worked with any credit unions and am new to Tucson so I'm not sure if I can recommend any. I sent you a message if you'd like to work with a loaner I personally know in Phoenix.

Hi @Cade Olof,

I believe the credit unions are the portfolio lenders. And you don't need accounts to be approved for the loan. Creating accounts will give them the impression that you are a loyal member so they will then "bend the rules" for you.

Are you connected with AZREIA? There is a Tucson subgroup.

I am probably one year senior to you: moved here about a year ago and got my real estate agent license. I still haven't purchased my first deal, but I'm saving for a down payment to house hack on a multifamily home.

Let me know if you want to keep in contact/want an accountability partner.

Currently a full time Electrical Engineer in Tucson, AZ with my RE license. :)

(recent grad, but itching to make my first deal!)

What are everyone's opinion about the Tucson market mid-COVID?

1) I work full time at Raytheon (one of the largest employers in Tucson). They are projecting 1000+ jobs within the year to incorporate new contracts and a merger with UTC.

2) I cannot answer where the best areas to invest in are because I think it depends on the tenants you want to deal with. Multifamily properties near the university would be my go-to answer, though.

3) I'm still a newbie to Tucson, but I am told to stay away from South Tucson!
