If you’re on Facebook you should join Big Bear Vacation Rental Owners once you purchase a property up there. There’s a huge movement going on regarding STRs. It’s a bit of a mess and “war” between locals and vacation home owners/Airbnb/STRs. Lots of people getting involved, board of supervisors, city council, vacation home owners and local residents. Honestly, had I known all of this before purchasing my cottage I probably wouldn’t have bought up there. But we like it and time will tell what will happen 👋🏽

hello, I haven't started renting it yet we didn't a complete guy and we're in the process of remodeling it and upgrading the electrical panel. Plus, the county of San Bernardino has put a 45 day hold on issuing new STR permits

Hey everyone! I'm scheduled to close tomorrow on a 2ba/1ba house in Big Bear City. The house is super clean and cute but I want to update it and make it a smart home. It's already registered with SBC as an STR that I will need to register it under my LLC. This will be my first vacation rental. I welcome any suggestions, ideas, handyman service and housekeeping contacts. Also, what are the pros/cons of a management company? I hear it can get a bit pricey. Thanks in advance!😊
