Hi BP,

I've been researching Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton, PA housing market. Mostly 3-4 multi plex. anyone in the area that can give me some pointers of which parts of town to stay away from and which areas to research a lot more. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you all,

Ray

@Peter Kelly Awesome Peter. Great to know you jump in to Binghamton. Did you buy for student housing or just residential investing? Good luck with your project.

@michael sherwood

Hi michael,

am from nyc, and also, have family in the Binghamton, vestal area. I am also looking to get in to the student housing rental in the Binghamton, downtown area. Mostly, looking at duplex, triplex, and fourplex. However, am still in the process of doing my research and learning more on the neighborhoods. For what I seeing, the west side is the most popular for student housing, although, the areas are a block by block kind of thing. One block looks great and, yet, one crosses the street and houses are falling apart. So, am just taking my time to learn more on the area. I frequent binghamton a few times a month and am always up for coffee and talking all about REI.

Good luck with your research!

Best,

Ray

@Jay Borowsky,

Ray-I am presently managing the property myself. I have family among the renters so it is less risky for me to go on my own. At some point though I will get a PM especially if I buy another house. If you are looking at the student rental market, then I would suggest you contact Charlie Ackerman. Good luck!

Thank you Jay, I will reach out to him. Good luck with your new purchase!

@ Jay Borowsky

Hi Jay,

am also looking in the Binghampton, NY area for a good deal for either a two or three family house. One quick question are you planning to manage the property yourself. Also, any good recommendations on a good real estate agent?

Good luck with the property!

Hi BP family. Looking to connect with fellow real estate investors in the Binghamton, NY. Am interested in learning more about the area (Binghamton, Endicott, Johnson City, Vestal). Am looking into the 3 family rentals market. Is this a good area of NY to invest. What do you all think?
