Post: Best brokerage for beginners in NYC

Hey everyone! So I'm about to become a Real Estate Agent after I get my results from my school exam.

I was wondering what brokerages in NYC (Manhattan) are best suited for beginners. My goal is to join a brokerage with the best training, and an agent who can take me under their wing. I just want to learn as much as possible. I don't really care for commission as of now.

I was considering Citi-Habitats, Keller Williams, and NestSeekers Int.  Any Suggestions?

Post: What classifies as a "unit" in NYC?

I've always been confused by the term "unit" in Real Estate. When people talk about 1,2,3... unit buildings, what exactly makes something a "unit."

My father said that every unit has a bathroom, but he isn't too sure.

Any thoughts?

I've always been confused on what exactly made up a unit. My father said a unit would have a bathroom, but he wasn't sure. So what classifies a "unit."

Thank you for the words of wisdom guys!

What would you recommend a starting real estate agent to dive into first, commercial or residential properties and why?

This is a very basic question, but my mom and I are arguing if in sales means price of properties sold combined, or commissions earned combined. I ask this because a very renowned real estate agent (luiz ortiz) retired from real estate recently and had 88 million in sales. But if it was really based on the prices of properties sold combined, then he would have a higher career in "in sales."

I'm a little confused about the topic of Escrow. Can some one include the pros and cons of it and go even more in depth in this topic?

Thank you.

Hi, I am fairly new to the Real Estate field, and always wondered how exactly do people know how the market is doing. I hear some people saying "Oh yes, the market is doing phenomenal!" But how do they know? I always believed that it was relative to location.

Also any tips for a person like me starting out?
