Hello everyone,

I'm seeking advise from anyone who is willing to give it. I'm very new to the real estate investing world, but have been interested for a long time. I've saved up around 80,000 dollars and feel like 2019 I need to make some big investment moves. I live in California and want to know how you have started and some thing I should look into doing. I hear multi family homes, or single family home flips. Then I hear things such as crowdfunding and syndication deals.

I've talked to one person in the real estate world and they're telling me that I should start off with a primary residence first here in the bay area, and take my time with investing in real estate after a few years of owning the home. I currently have been blessed and live in a 3 bedroom home that my dad owns with a cheap mortgage (nothing is cheap in the bay area), so I was able to save a lot of money over the years. If anyone could offer me some advise on where to start, that would be fantastic.

Best,

- Ray

@Asad Shaikh Thank you for the info Asad. Oh I definitely will be hiring a company to build the home. I was also thinking of doing it in Los Angeles where the average 2,000 sq ft home is over a million dollars. Land and build will be roughly 700,000, but I'm hearing a lot of horror stories regarding permits and how long it will actually take to build from the ground up.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and had a question regarding home building. I managed to save up over a hundred thousand dollars and have excellent credit. I even managed to get a rough estimate on how much my bank would give me for a  construction loan and it was around 600,000. Before I do so I wanted to see if anyone has done this and if it was a good idea for an investment? I figured this was probably one of the toughest things to do as a first time investor in real estate. If anyone could give me any tips or locations it would be fantastic.
