Get a job, live below your means, save, then invest with your own money. 10k is a good start but if you're going to spend 10k make sure u have at least 20k saved up. Good luck

What's your strategy? Do you plan on getting rich from investing or are you trying to generate an extra income? Follow your heart brother. If you believe you can make 100s of thousands of dollar from your investment, withdrawal ever cent from your 401k and follow your heart. Whats a 10% penalty when your making thousands of dollars? Also, your new income can be your new 401k. :)

His income is good but he drives a bmw. What are you insinuating? Not everyone who owns an expensive piece of metal is strapped for cash or loaded. But back to what you're saying! A sign of depression is never good. Be smart!

Also keep in mind, a large down payment doesn't necessarily save you much money as you think. Download a mortgage app or go to whatever website you use to find houses and mess around with the down payment feature. Place it on 20% then 19% then %15 then 25%. Notice how many thousands you're spending to save maybe $10-35 bucks each month? Be wise.
