Michael Snead that sounds interesting. My ideal deal would be to obtain a duplex or triplex with an FHA or 203k loan and live in one of the units. But I know I'd have to occupy one for 1 year before I can rent it out so if I can't obtain that financing due to me being out of the country during the basketball season then my next ideal deal would be to just obtain a single family house to rent.

Hello BP Community!

My name is Rae Edwards. I am from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia (Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, etc). I am 24 years old, I recently graduated college where I earned my MBA while playing basketball. I am currently living in Morocco, Africa where I play professional basketball!

I am interested in real estate investing because passive income has always been appealing to me. I know that living my dream as a pro player will only last so long, but why not earn passively even while I'm abroad for a few months out of the year? I have been researching through Bigger Pockets (Youtube and Podcasts) and other sources for about a year now.

While here I am doing all the extensive research that I can. I will be back in the states this summer and my goal is to obtain a single family home or duplex. I'm finding that the hardest part is simply getting started!

I am looking forward to learning more through these forums.
