Congrats!!! I am so glad you shared this with us and really explained and showed the calculations! It's very encouraging to someone like me, a newbie looking to get started! Right now I'm binge listening to podcasts and I'm reading as many books as I can (currently reading David's book on BRRRR). Had you practiced analyzing deals before your first deal? Or did you just jump right in?

I'm not in Corpus, from Houston, but interested in investing in CC. I'd be interested, as well, once you've pinned down any dates for the meet-ups.

@Matt Robinson that's awesome! I'll keep checking and hope to meet you soon!

How often do you meet up? I'll be traveling to that area in August and as a newbie looking to get started, I'm interested in attending as many events as possible to learn whatever I can. I also would love to invest in the area once I'm ready to pull the trigger.

George W., thanks! I was listening to the podcast with Corey Nemoto and he was telling about his first-time at a networking event, where someone asked him for his business card, and he didn’t have any! He ended up scribbling his info on a piece of paper. I just don’t want to give a bad first impression; I want people to take me serious. I appreciate your input!

So, I’m new and reading a ton, in addition to binge-listening to podcasts, however I’ve heard/read a couple of times about business cards at networking events. What would you all recommend to a brand spanking newbie who hasn’t done a deal yet, but, is looking to start attending networking events to start building relationships? Is it necessary to get business cards if you haven’t even entered the game yet and don’t even have a business name? Eager to hear your thoughts!

Since all of these threads are from 4 years ago or more...I'm curious to know if anyone has attended any of the Houston WREIA events recently? Is it a good spot for newbies as well? Are all the others mentioned on here still active and worth attending?
