When I posted my question, I had several of John T. Reed's books sitting in an online shopping cart. He is incredible, no doubt about that! One book in particular speaks to tax advice and I realize there are frequent changes, so it just got me thinking...is there a shelf life to these books? Thank you @Brant Richardson and @Robert Leornard! I will read your suggestions this week!

@Steven Hamilton II @Jacob A. @Dave Toelkes thank you for starting the conversation! Going forward this year I've decided to take on a partner for my new REI venture. Our current tax brackets are very different. Prior to choosing to take a partner I was advised to open a C-Corp. Was this based on my current income? Or anticipated? My partner is in a lower tax bracket. Does this change anything for me? Should I open a C-Corp and him an S...can we have different?...is my question too wordy?! :-)
