Looking into homeowners insurance would be my best suggestion! Expect the best and prepare for the worst.

Having a loft net could be worth it in then end for making the place a unique stay if you're able to find liability coverage.

Costs can range for properties depending on how many rooms and square footage you're looking to cover. I've worked on Airbnb design projects that have ranged for $15-$30k for a small 4 bedroom house with a furnished basement. It depends on the items that you can thrift and items you purchase new at full retail.

I agree that the turf option would be the most appealing option as it's both functional for families and small pets along with being aesthetically pleasing. In the long run, you can end up charging more for rent because of this bonus amentity.

I think it depends on if you want to manage the property long distance. This can be challenging! Why not sell and purchase the multifamily locally? Makes more sense to manage where you are but I have seen both sides work out successfully.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Rachel and I am new to bigger pockets and the real estate industry. I work in rental property management and am looking to expand my knowledge of all things real estate and finance. I graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelors in Interior Design and am passionate about inspiring people through their built environment. I'm looking to grow my own real estate and design buisness in the future and want to start building a solid foundation for that.

Excited to connect with you all!
