I'm at the beginning stages of getting a HELOC, I plan to use it for a down payment for a 2-4 unit. What should I keep my eye out for when comparing different lenders? What rates and terms are you currently getting?

Are you speaking about investor clients, or retail clients?

What I currently do is I keep in touch with my sphere and continuing to network at investor meetups. Get with your local REIA and start networking with folks. I have a facebook business page that I consistently post on and communicate with people on. That will definitely help you build trust with new buyers.

In general, tell everyone you know that you are in the real estate field. I mean everyone. You never know who someone might know that needs assistance with real estate.
  

You're in a great area to start that's for sure. With Akron and Canton just south of you, you have great secondary markets to work in. I currently invest in Canton.

Patience, I'm working on continuing to save more capital for small multifamily. The waiting in killer. Of course I'll continue to analyze properties, so I'll just wait and save so I can add to my portfolio.

I'll try to come! Maybe some day we can do one in Canton!

Nothing yet, when the tenant moves out I'll do a light remodel.
