good morning BP. I've read in multiple guru books how beneficial it may be to become a realtor while in the pursue of becoming a full time REI. Can someone please express the pros and cons of this?

Hi everyone,

I'm a new member here on BiggerPockets and located in Rockland County, New York. The past few months I've been reading/listening to any and every real estate book, Audiobook, and podcast that I can get my hands on. I've been reading the BP forums for a bit and decided to go ahead and make my formal introduction.

I'm currently working full time and hope to make my first buy-and-hold rental property purchase sometime within the next year. In the meantime, I plan on absorbing as much information and knowledge as possible, finding a mentor, and saving up for the down payment. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions with meetups, REI groups, mentors or any books or other educational sources i can gain some knowledge and experience from. Thanks for the support.

Warm Regards,

Peter G
