Hello Chalie! I was wondering if you knew anybody that has bought an apartment in NC. I wanted to have some solid numbers for my underwriting. Thank you!

@Scott Ratner

I think you’re right regarding the lending costs, but I’m guessing there are different costs associated with closing on top of the lending? I’ll definitely give a few banks a call to double check. At the very least, they might be able to point me in the right direction. My question was regarding multifamily properties. Thank you for taking the time to reply!

@Sean H.

Hi Sean. Thank you so much for your reply. Would I be able to email you some costs and see how much you pay for the individual items if anything?

Hello, I'm looking to acquire multifamily properties in North Carolina. I understand that attorneys do the closing there. If anybody is familiar with the breakdown of the costs associated with closings in North Carolina, I'd really appreciate it if you would comment on this post. Thank you!

@Taylor L. I made this investment in 2017 not knowing much about real estate investing, let alone syndications. I’m not exactly sure where I put those files as I have had multiple computers since then. It’s also hard to get documents from him as well. I do see your point. I guess I’ll have to keep searching for the agreement contract.

@Bryan Hancock, I thought we invested into a fund that was for 1 apartment. It sold in September of 2019 so I thought we were going to get our money back. Instead, we were told that it was a fund and the maturity date was 3/15/20. So I made it clear to him that I wanted my money back on 3/15/20. Unfortunately, when that date came around, he told us that he had invested our money into other projects and thought that he would be able to sell and give us our money on 3/15/20. Due to covid, he was having a hard time selling and can’t give us our money back at this time. So he is asking for an extension and is willing to give us and extra 3% of the principle. He guarantees that our principle is safe.
