Thanks for all the replies. Clearly there aren't poor people living in million dollar homes, point I was making was that there are other states/cities with a larger markets for short sales, foreclosures, etc

Thanks for the input! Does anyone have experience or recommendations as to where would be a good state/city to start? I can't afford to start investing here in California.

Hello,

I'm a new investor looking to learn how to buy tax deed/delinquent properties. Would a buyer of a tax deed be responsible for existing mortgages on the property? I'm in southern california and I can't afford to buy investments properties here since it's so expensive so I'm looking to learn about this process so I can start to invest in other states/areas. Appreciate any thoughts.
