Hey Marcus! Do any of your siblings live near the subject property? Having someone you trust that can be your boots on the ground will be key. You'll also want to find someone that is knowledgeable of the local market that can tell you what your ARV will be and what rehab costs typically are in the area as well. More importantly, establishing a current value based on the condition of the property will also be important since it sounds like you will need to reach a buyout agreement with your siblings first. I'll send you a PM.

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out! I'm a Hofstra alum so I'm very familiar with the Hempstead/Uniondale area, small world!  I have family down in Orlando that definitely shares your struggles with finding quality pizza and bagels in Florida.  Every time they come for a visit, they pack light so they can freeze 3 dozen to fly back home with!  Would love to discuss lease options with you further, I've listened to a few podcasts on here about them and I'm definitely intrigued by the strategy.  Thanks again for the warm welcome, hope to chat soon!

Hello BP Community! Paul here from Westbury, NY and I'm just getting started on my REI journey. I started listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast about 6 months ago and after hearing all of the inspirational stories about how Real Estate had positively impacted people's lives, I decided to get licensed and become more involved in the community.

My current REI focus is to acquire distressed SFH primarily in Nassau County or Suffolk County for either my own fix-flip/wholetail project or to wholesale out to other local rehabbers.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving yesterday with their families and thank you to the BP Community for giving me the inspiration to get started!
