I'm concerned about what the new pricing model will look Are they going to move exclusively to a pay-per-booking fee to owners, or a combination of fees to owners and guests, etc. I don't like this acquistion. Not a fan of Expedia.

I think it has been somewhat of a standard rate, but that's changing. I'm at 25% for mainly homes which require more maintenance. Condos are lower upkeep. I wouldn't pay 40%.

Hi Maura,

I'm familiar with most of those systems and have spoken with them, but they are very pricey and cost prohibitive for a small company.

Hi,

Am a VR owner who is migrating into property management. Would be grateful if anyone has recommendations on software.

My idea is to run a website providing owners access to a reservation calendar so they can see what's going on, block off dates, etc. The reservation system must integrate with VRBO/HomeAway. Additionally, software for owners would provide ability to adjust pricing should they desire. I'm thinking I need a bookekeeping system too.

I'm NOT planning on marketing the homes through my website to renters, so will not be posting descriptions there. Will be done solely through VRBO, et al. So, website is geared to owners only, not renters. Any help on which type of software could do these basic things is appreciated. I'm trying to stay away from the Cadillac software products since I only need some of the modules. Perhaps there is a software that you can purchase individual modules? (e.g. bookkeeping, reservation calendar)

Thank you!

Patrick

Thanks much! I'm an owner of VR''s but recently started a VR property mgmt company here in Michigan. I enjoy it. I'm doing it mainly for friends and family to start out but I only charge 15%, and pay for the listing on VRBO or AirBNB and prof photography. Just charge for cleaning. Really enjoy interacting with interested renters and guests.

Thanks very much! I will take a look at them when I have a moment. No, I'm a troll, which is what the Yoopers in Michigan call those of us who live south of the Mackinac Bridge. However, my mother is from the U.P, and father, sister, bro-in law all went to Tech, and niece is there now. I was just up there in Houghton in July.....Copper Country! Thanks agin.

Hi,
Quick question...was wondering if anyone has come across a good guide/checklist on readying/preparing your home for VR? I found one on google at one point and didn't save it...now I can't locate. Thanks- Patrick
