I realize this is not the sexiest of topics for REIs! So, thank you both - Deanna & Mark for sharing your suggestions and insights.

Deanna-

Great ideas for tracking down the moisture.  I have WIRSBO PEX in the basement. AND, I had a moisture test done on the concrete in the basement during spring rains, and it was the lowest my contractor (concrete finisher) had seen in a long time. I figured it was a due to the fact that the down-spouts are all connected into the sewer directly.

I'll monitor the situation and report back.  The de-humidifier suggested looks like an awesome option. Since it requires 16" o.c. studs and protrudes on the back-side of the cavity, I can't use it. However, I think it's a great solution to a future problem I'm likely to have. I think I'll keep it in my filing cabinet of cool solutions.

cheers!

I have a basement that has a very low rate of moisture influx thru the cement. However, the cooler temperatures coupled with significant shower/washer use in the basement injects plenty of moisture that creates damp clothes ("damp" was used by my tenant).

I'm looking for a recommendation on dehumidifier methods or products people recommend based on their experience.  There's a drain in the cement floor I can access thru the wall, so I was considering getting a dehumidifier with a drain hose.

I'm open to feedback, suggestions, guidance, etc --- bring it on!
