This might be a silly question, but I am new at this ... Looking into homes that are not in my home state, do I need to find a small lender bank in the state that I would like to invest ? Or can I use a local bank in my area to purchase in other states ?

Any tips or advice would be great ! Thanks

Hi everyone...

I was wondering what your thoughts were on investing in section 8 housing? Can I have a list of Pro's and Con's?

Thanks!!

HI Nerea,

Welcome!!  I as well am a newbie to the real estate world as well as BP. I live in Brooklyn too. I find NY very hard to invest because it is so expensive. I am trying to see what market near NY would be recommended. Looking for deals with low or no money down. If you hear anything good please be in touch!

Regards,

Orit

I am looking into single family homes or multi family duplex. I own a home here in NY but need to be able to commute if investing in another state close by. I have looked into Philadelphia but wanted to know if there where other options that were recommended. I am new at this and trying to get as much information as possible.

thanks

Hi all..I live in New York not far from nyc ..I am looking to invest but definitely not in NY. The houses here are way overpriced an I would need to be a millionaire to invest. From what I hear Connecticut which is about 2-3 hours away is not great. Can anyone recommend a good place to look into purchasing near NY that is affordable ?? Thanks everyone

See on the map where there are the intersections of S 20th Street and Lincoln Ave? That's where I grew up.  My family left there when I was a teenager because the area got so bad with drugs and gangs.  After we left, some kids made homemade bombs and set them off in the house and garage causing the city to tear down the house.  So yeah ... but then again, that was years and years ago.

Yikes Dawn!! Thanks for the tip!

I would say I am surprised it is in not in the RED zone.  If the unit is vacant it might be in  rough shape. This is in an area if the building is empty the copper will be gone and maybe the furnaces and water heater too.

Yeah it's seemed a little strange but out here in my area that would a normal occurrence.

I looked at the map and there were no red zones at all, only orange and green. That is why I had to ask!! Thanks for your advice.

Thank you Marcus!! Yes, NY is a tough place to invest. Would you be able to recommend anything that is close to NY?

I am not from the Milwaukee area but found a multi family home for 49,500 in Muskego Way neighborhood. The upper level is occupied at $750 a month and the lower level is vacant.

I still have to see how the numbers play out but first was curious if it was a safe area? Maybe it would be a great wholesale property for me.....

What do you think? Any tips would be great
