Well there are a number of question you need to ask yourself. Will you be living in the property or is this for investment? If it's for investment, you need to find out for sure, if this will be a condo or co-op? This is a very important question, because some co-ops won't allow you to rent out the property or have stipulations concerning rentals. Condo's normally don't have those type of stipulations but check.  This would a great location investment wise, because the trains and the attractions in the neighborhood.

Ling where in NYC are these properties? Asking because for you not to see the properties but make an offer is somewhat uncommon. You are making a bid without seeing what you purchased. I wouldn't male a bid, if I were you not know what I bid.

However, if you like this process and are fine with it. Consult with a real estate attorny to make your bid. I have a lawyer that I work with on deals, you can inbox me your email address and I'll forward it over to you.

Navi I have to agree with Scott. The rental market is good in that area. Considering where it is and how popular it is, I think it is something you should jump on. Especially, if you can afford both houses the property near Barclay's  Center will make money in rent as long as it's marketed and presented right. How are the two units set up, two bedrooms or one bedrooms?

If you are just investing don't fall asleep on your money, that's the only advice I would give.By this I mean always be vigiliant about your money.  So in this scenerio you are apart of a hard money lender group.

Phil there are some buildings that are for sale in Brooklyn. However, you don't only have apartment buildings, there are also Brownstones in Brooklyn that could be used as apartments as well. For instance, there is a brownstone that is a seven family home. One unit is a three bedroom and the other six units are studios. You can split the units up, however, you see fit for your daughters and rent the others. And sometimes, the brownstones are cheaper than buying a building, sometimes depending on where the properties are located.
