Yes, it does Mark. Thank you. I realized by listening to podcasts and reading several posts that direct marketing is the best. 1st absentee owners, and 2nd probates. What I meant by "area" was actual counties. I'm moving to Florida in September and wanted to know the best way to find out what the best country to market in, dollar for dollar, meaning what dollar amount can I see the most sales from. ...My thinking is Broward and Palm Beach county you'd have to spend a lot more $$$$ on marketing per month to close deals because of the competition, rather than let's say Tampa, Panama City, Naples, or Sarasota. ...I heard a few gurus talk about certain algorithms they use to  target areas to find better opportunity than others. They factor in unemployment rates, how long a property stays on the market, etc. ...I would love to find out more about this because I can pretty much go to wherever the the best dollar for dollar action is.

I realize it's not an exact science but I am a geek for this stuff, and Gordon Gekko said it best when he said, "The most valuable commodity I know of is information."

Would anyone know of a service, or way I can learn more about algorithms???

Hello all, I am currently looking into 'wholesaling' and 'wholetailing' and ultimately 'buy and hold' multiple unit apartment buildings for long term income. ...My goal for the first year will be to aggressively market in key areas in the country and put the most efficient systems in place in order to acquire at least 4+ properties a month. At the present moment I am looking to network and gain knowledge and 'boots on the ground' experience in this competitive field, and wish to learn the basics of what I need to get started. I am not a "paralysis by analysis,' type of guy, but I am a calculated risk taker who believes is knowledge, and once I have my bearings I am not afraid to pull the trigger. In fact i am quite anxious to get started.

Looking to meet like minded RE investors in the NY area. Please feel free to post any REI meetings that are open for me to attend. i would love to meet you guys. :)

Thank you,

Ofer

Hello all! I just joined PB, and this is my very first post. I am based out of NY, but may relocate to Florida very soon. I am a newbie here, just getting my feet wet and not far from start my marketing campaign, but I have a few questions first. One has to do with location and competition, and 'marketing risk' vs 'reward'. I could be very wrong about this, but I think that Florida is, and will be a gold mine for years to come, because of the probate, and out of state homeowners are so saturated in the state. I hear some of the guru's speak about algorithms and various methods as a way of determining the best areas to market in ('best' meaning dollar wise), and that kind of stuff fascinates me, and I would love to know if there is a way for me to find this stuff out? ...I know it's all about testing the market myself and seeing what works, and I plan to, but I would love to be able to crunch numbers and see which part of the lake 'possibly' has the best fishing spots before I drop my line in. ...Sorry for the long winded post, but any comment will be appreciated. Negative or otherwise. I am hear to learn. ...By all means fire away.

Thanks.  :)
