Hello everyone, I am looking to startup investing in the Stockton, Manteca, and Tracy California area. I have a bit of money to play with and I am looking at a traditional way of investing example:

I finance a house a traditional way, somewhat in bad shape, rehab, rent and refinance. Is there something I would be doing wrong? I just don't have money to buy a house and do the BRRR method which I would like to do.

Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated and if any realtors/lenders around this area feel free to reach out to me.

@Tyler D'Alessandro

The Bay Area has its own unique market with unique jobs and has held its value for a substantial amount of years.

Buying in SF, SJ, Milpitas, or San Mateo for that matter makes sense to me. Find yourself a great deal and jump on it. There is still a lot of successful people living in the Bay Area to connect with.

@Eric Hamm Thanks for your reply, my main concern would be if the area is rent controlled? Which areas are best to invest in? How can I spot a deal when it’s presented to me?

I just started looking into property investments this year I manage a small community for a large company and I’m looking it to getting my own some day. I don’t know really where to start.

Hello, I am a newbie to this I am looking into the Modesto market and wanted to see if anyone is having any issues or has came across something. Also what are the likelihood of success in this area as far as apartment complex or house rental. I am located in the San Jose area but I’ve visited several time to scoop out different properties. Thank you for your feedback.
