I’m thinking about getting my license, mainly to scan the MLS for deals but I would also save on when I sell and buy my properties to flip. Would this be a smart move to make? Would it be worth the money and time to get the license?

@Graeme Ford thanks for the link I will listen to that very soon. I assume you have an llc? Did you do it before or after your first transaction? And for me right now I will only be doing flips and wholesales then when I build capital I will get into rentals

@Nick Patel I’ve heard good things about them so I will definitely check them out! By chance would you mind telling me when you set yours up? Like way before your first deal or after one or whatever?

How would protecting yourself from someone trying to take your assets be not worth it and too expensive?

Hello, posting this in the pro area in hopes of getting some expert opinions!

I plan on doing fix and flips and maybe some wholesales for now, with that said I have some questions and would really appreciate if anyone can help me shed some light on this!

When is the right time to setup your llc?

I talked to Nevada corporate headquarters (NCH) and they said their state was the best to have an llc in an would set me up with one and hold my hand through it all for 1300$ This seems high but I don't mind the price if I know it'll be setup right. He said Nevada was the state to setup a llc because they only have one way to pierce the veil and that is by fraud as opposed to Ohio where their are many different ways to do so. He also said setting up a llc in a different state from where I am located is fine, but I am reading online that you may have to make it a foreign entity if I am correct?

So should I just set an llc up in my state even though their are many ways to get the veil pierced? Also when should I setup my llc? Asap? Once I do a flip or two to get the hang of it?

Any input is greatly appreciated thanks!!!!!!
