@Jen Lucas could you send me the details to [email protected]?

I see another lawsuit coming if non-owner occupied STR is allowed and the city does not provide licenses for it without a good reason. I do see licenses getting more stringent to obtain e.g. tighter inspections etc

A federal judge ruled Aug. 2 that people who own an investment home in Austin but don't live there can rent it out on Airbnb, Vrbo or other short-term rental websites.

The city of Austin was sued by Houston residents after municipal rules passed in 2016 prohibited them from renting out their house on Lake Austin on the popular travel websites. Such investment properties had to survive on long-term leases; those who own homes in Austin and designate it their primary residence have still been allowed to rent short-term.

“The City is disappointed with the ruling but hopes that the owners and guests of short-term rental properties will be respectful and considerate of the neighborhoods in which they are located. The City is committed to enforcing its nuisance regulations to short-term rental properties as needed,” a City of Austin spokesperson said.

If you get a chance tour a 3D printed home .. 100-home community is in Georgetown’s Wolf Ranch and ICON is using its giant Vulcan robot 3D printer to build it.

ICON teamed up with Lennar to build and sell eight floorplans with 24 elevations. Each home will be powered by rooftop solar panels. The fully furnished model is now open.

“Our first home starts at $475,000,” Coleman said. “We go up into the high $500,000s.”

Plans for 31,0000 acre site could end up being Central Texas' largest-ever development — 50 million SF of industrial space (7X larger than Austin airport) for what it's calling the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics Campus

@Bjorn Ahlblad lol i have been to Tacoma like 10-15 yrs ago and it was a sleepy little town. Will be interesting to see how it has grown. I am guessing since Seattle is so expensive now folks looking for affordable housing have to go out to outer areas like Tacoma.
