@Curtis Yoder

Thanks Curtis for your reply!

I appreciate the call to action! I am still trying to save to have stronger reserves in place currently, but your response is interesting because I just came across this thread last night after my first post:

90% of you won't do anything!!!! But why?

https://www.biggerpockets.com/forums/62/topics/186...

A lot Investors posted excellence reasons why people don't ever get started and It spoke to me personally.

I found this and it really inspired me as I have learned a lot from Robert Kiyosaki.  I know there has been a lot of criticism about him too, but I'm sure he has helped tons of people including myself that had a shift in mindset some years back:

“Robert Kiyosaki divided your financial life in four quarters: 25 to 35 years old (first quarter), 35 to 45 years old (second quarter), 45 to 55 years old (third quarter), and 55 – 65 years old (fourth quarter). If you follow the standard advice of hard work, save money and invest on a 401K, you will just be old by the time you can retire, if you can actually do it. Our goal should be to conquer life in the first two quarters so you can still have time to enjoy and rest on your last 2 quarters.”

My goal is to be financially free in the first quarter of life!!!

@Andrew Brannick

Thanks for your reply Andrew!

Wow great perspective you have brought up.  I have heard this as well that you can fail with or without the license.  It sounds like what you getting at is trying to place yourself in a  good environment, but more importantly make sure you have a mindset that it won't be easy but the rewards are great!

Thank you!  Yes I want to get in the game and stop watching on the sideline lol!

@Abel Curiel

Thank you so much for your reply Abel! Glad to hear you have already weighed the Pro's and Con's of the License and decided it was best to get it.  I think for me the Pro's are stronger as well, because I do intend to buy several properties in the future.

For sure your not swaying at all just giving good advice from both sides of the coin!

I will seek out some investors in the area that I can connect with, and look into attending REIA meetings in the area as well. I have heard of them but never planned on going to one in the past. Well that was the past it's time to take action and make it happen!

Best of luck to you as well!

Hello BP!

Wow it feels so good to finally post! I have read and learned so much here on BP, but have never mustered up the courage to post lol. I have been tremendously touched by the amazing community here and have decided I no longer want to be on the outside.

With that being said I reside in the Orlando, Florida area. I have read a lot of books, blogs, and listened to podcasts already for the past couple of years. I am currently saving with my Wife to purchase our first property and make the splash. We haven't decided on a single family to househack or a multi family yet. We live way below our means and barely carry any debt. We took the Dave Ramsey class for those who are familiar, which has helped us get our financial house in order. Now we desire to put our foot on the gas and accelerate to financial freedom through RE.

My question is I have thought about getting a RE license to get more in the field of RE, utilize the commissions to save faster, network, etc. Do you all think that is a wise choice? Also, our goal is to have $5,000 in passive income in five years to cover our monthly expenses and be financially independent. Our current monthly expenses are only about $2500.

Lastly, I would like to learn from Investors. I have read a lot, but I know learning with people personally will help me grow so much faster than just reading about it. I want to take action and am willing to learn unpaid. Please let me know if you have any opportunities available.

I appreciate all who read my post and thank you in advance for your replies!
